What?
You have a one big file, many little files, many big files (underline correct situation), you wish to transfer to somebody else?
You can burn them on CD/DVD or write them on usb-stick and give to recipient. You can also split files into smaller parts and send them by e-mail. You can use ifolder, rapidshare and so on. Silly service will ask for code and show you some banners. Really “some”.
But you can use a BitTorrent technology. Don’t you download music, videos, games and Linux distributions by torrents? Don’t you like that? Why don’t you share your “everyday” files by BitTorrent? Fresh photos from some happening, music projects, backups of corrupted HDDs… include some situations you were in.
How to share
Tracker URL is http://torrentsfolder.appspot.com/. You don’t need to upload yor torrent-file to server.
How to share (for Paris Hilton)
I will illustrate with popular BitTorrent-client µTorrent. Look at this:
1. Menu → File → Create New Torrent .
2. “Create New Torrent” dialog box appears:
- Choose what to share. This can be file or directory with many files.
- Into the “Trackers” field you must enter http://torrentsfolder.appspot.com/
- Check the “Start seeding” checkbox (if this checkbox strangely unchecked).
- Press “Create and save as…” button.
- Now you can close “Create new torrent” dialog box.
3. Now we got smaaaaaaal torrent file which was created and saved in step 2. Send it with e-mail, ICQ, AOL, MSN, IRC WTF OMG LOL, e.d. your favorite program to communicate with people, who need this file. They should open torrent-file with their torrent-clients and simply start downloading…
